Governor Punjab launches PUCA’s anti-drug campaign
Chandigarh, Jul 11: To combat substance abuse among the youth, the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) on Friday launched a special anti-drug awareness campaign.
The initiative was inaugurated by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at a function held in Chandigarh.
Rajya Sabha MP S Satnam Singh Sandhu attended as the special guest, while PUCA President and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges, Anshu Kataria, presided over the function.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor highlighted the alarming impact of substance abuse on youth and society at large.
Rajya Sabha MP S Satnam Singh Sandhu, in his address, called for a collective societal effort in this direction.
Anshu Kataria reiterated PUCA’s commitment to addressing the drug menace.
Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Madhu Chitkara, stressed the responsibility of educators, saying, “Every educator and institution must step forward and join this mission.”
Chairman of Baba Farid Group, Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “The most powerful weapons against drug abuse are education and awareness.”
