Gojwara residents decry inadequate water supply
Srinagar, Nov 1: Residents of Malik Sahib area of Gojwara in Downtown have decried inadequate water supply in the area.
The residents said that the issue is compounded by rusted and leaking water supply pipes.
Residents said that they get water supply in shifts and that too is hindered by the low water pressure due to leaking pipes.
“On routine, ground staff of PHE has to fix one or the other issues. The reason for inadequate water supply is mainly due to lack of a proper network of pipes. We get water in shifts, and that, too, is not sufficient,” said a local.
Locals said that that for decades the water pipes have not been replaced which get blocked most of the time.
“Only a few days back, there were multiple issues at various places. These issues occur throughout the year, and the solution is to augment the existing water supply network,” said another local.
The locals said that they are unable to carry out routine house chores due to inadequate water supply and appealed to the authorities to look into the issue.
