GOC-in-C Northern Command reviews security in Akhnoor sector

Jammu, Nov 4: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar Monday visited Akhnoor sector to review security and the operational preparedness of the forces.

During his visit, he reviewed the readiness of forces as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva briefed him (Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar) on security architecture and measures in place to counter evolving threats, the Northern Command stated this on ‘X.’ Lt Gen Suchindra commended the troops for their recent operation in Akhnoor sector and exhorted all ranks to uphold professionalism and maintain operational excellence in the region.

In a fierce encounter of 28 hours or so, security forces on October 29 killed three terrorists, who had made an abortive bid to ambush an army convoy on October 28 near Assan temple of Khour in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. Security forces also recovered war-like stores including M4 Carbine and 2 AK-47, following the encounter.

Two days ago, the GOC White Knight Corps along with GOC Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Romeo visited Songri-Rajouri sector to review the security situation and operational preparedness.“GOC White Knight Corps underscored the need for unwavering commitment in maintaining peace and security in the region,” White Knight (16) Corps had stated.
