GOC 16 Corps assesses operational preparedness in Chenab Valley
Jammu, Aug 7: White Knight (16) Corps General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lieutenant General P K Mishra Thursday assessed operational readiness of troops and reviewed evolving security scenario in Doda and Kishtwar districts of Chenab Valley.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Delta accompanied Lt Gen Mishra as he took stock of threat assessment and deployment for counter-terrorism operations.
GOC 16 Corps, while interacting with the officers and ground forces, emphasised area domination in perfect synergy.
“GOC White Knight Corps, along with GOC CIF (D), conducted an operational review in Doda and Kishtwar. He was briefed on the internal security situation, threat assessment and force deployment for counter-terrorism operations,” White Knight Corps posted on ‘X’. “Focus was laid on maintaining area domination, enhancing surveillance and ensuring a coordinated and proactive response to emerging threats.”
On Wednesday, Lt Gen Mishra reviewed the evolving security scenario and assessed the operational readiness of troops in Poonch.
GOC Ace of Spades Division accompanied Lt Gen Mishra as he conducted a forward-area review of the Poonch Brigade.
He was briefed on the current security situation, threat assessment and operational posture of the forces.
GOC White Knight Corps reinforced focus on operational dominance and integrated threat response to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemy.
The Corps Commander interacted with troops, commended their high morale and operational readiness in the face of evolving threats.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the security forces stated to have unearthed a huge cache of arms and ammunition while busting a hideout in Kishtwar district on Thursday.
“During a routine search operation in the Chhatroo area, one AK-47, one magazine, 30 rounds, including some Pak rounds, and a binocular were recovered from a hideout in Berighouth-Dugadda forest stretch,” officials said.
