GOC 15 Corps reviews south Kashmir security situation
Srinagar, Sep 20: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai Friday visited the Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Victor Headquarters in Awantipora Pulwama and reviewed the prevailing security situation and assessed the operational preparedness of the forces stationed in the area.
During the visit, the Corps Commander was briefed on the current operational posture, including the recent anti-terror operations and intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
Senior officials from CIF Victor apprised him of the latest developments and the steps being taken to ensure sustained peace and security in south Kashmir.
In his interaction with the troops, the Chinar Corps Commander emphasised the importance of situational awareness as a crucial element of operational success.
He urged that maintaining a clear understanding of ground realities was essential for the efficient execution of counter-insurgency operations.
Lt Gen Ghai stressed the need for constant vigilance, intelligence sharing, and community engagement to thwart any attempts by hostile elements to destabilise the region.
A key highlight of the interaction was the focus on the integration of advanced technology to strengthen operational capabilities.
The Corps Commander pointed out how leveraging technological advancements like drone surveillance, artificial intelligence-based monitoring systems, and real-time data analytics, could significantly enhance situational awareness.
The use of these technologies, coupled with continuous training and strategic planning, would allow the forces to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging challenges.
