GOC 15 Corps reviews security situation in south Kashmir

Srinagar, July 9: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai conducted a thorough review of the security situation in south Kashmir, visiting Rashtriya Rifles battalions actively engaged in the counter-terrorism grid.

The Chinar Corps Commander’s visit follows the successful execution of twin operations, OP MODARGHAM and OP CHINIGAM, in Kulgam district on July 6 and 7, which resulted in the killing of six terrorists and the recovery of war-like stores.

Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai praised the meticulous planning and execution of the operations by the troops, highlighting the precision and coordination involved in these missions.

“The troops have demonstrated exceptional bravery and tactical expertise in these operations, significantly contributing to our efforts to maintain peace and security in the region,” he said.

The operations, carried out jointly by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, have been hailed as a significant milestone in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Kashmir.

The elimination of the terrorists and the seizure of substantial arms and ammunition are seen as crucial steps towards disrupting terrorist activities and ensuring the safety of the local populace.
