Srinagar, Aug 29: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 15 Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, has praised the troops for their exemplary service and dedication during "Operation Shiva," a crucial security initiative launched to ensure the safety of the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims this year.

The operation was conducted along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, with the aim of securing the tracks from any threats throughout the duration of the yatra.

"Chinar Corps Commander commended troops for their contribution in OP SHIVA 2024" #ChinarCorps Commander visited Manasbal and Awantipora to acknowledge the successful completion of OP SHIVA 24.

He felicitated the #ChinarWarriors while appreciating their contribution towards facilitating the pilgrims. Operation Shiva, which involved hundreds of troops from the Victor Force, was meticulously planned and executed to safeguard one of the most significant annual pilgrimages. The operation was ongoing throughout the yatra period, ensuring that every inch of the route was cleared of any potential threats, and that the devotees could perform their pilgrimage without any security concerns.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, also known as the Chinar Corps Commander, visited key locations including Manasbal and Awantipora. During his visits, he personally acknowledged the successful completion of Operation Shiva 2024 and felicitated the soldiers, known as Chinar Warriors, who were instrumental in the operation’s success.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Ghai expressed his deep appreciation for the troops' meticulous planning, seamless coordination, and flawless execution, which played a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra. "The dedication and professionalism displayed by our troops have once again demonstrated the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to the safety and security of the people," he remarked.
