GMC Srinagar Women’s Badminton team lifts Inter-College Championship title

Srinagar, Nov 21: GMC Srinagar’s women’s badminton team clinched the Inter-College Badminton Tournament title hosted by the University of Kashmir, defeating Women’s College Nawakadal in a thrilling final to secure one of the institution’s standout sporting achievements.

As per a statement issued on Friday, in a thrilling final match played against Women’s College Nawakadal, the GMC Srinagar team showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination to lift the coveted championship title. The winning team comprised Dua Aabid (Captain), Madeeha, and Aayat, who delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament and brought laurels to the institution.

The success of the team is also a reflection of the relentless efforts of the Sports Committee of the CASS Union, GMC Srinagar, ably led by Prof Iqbal Saleem Mir. The committee members—Dr Arshad Rashid, Dr Rajandeep Singh Bali, and Dr Obaid Ashraf — played a pivotal role in training, mentoring, and ensuring comprehensive support for the college’s sporting activities.
