GMC Srinagar marks World Stroke Day with awareness CME
Srinagar, Oct 24: Commemorating World Stroke Day, the Department of Neurology, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar is organising a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event themed "Greater Than Stroke."
The event aims to raise awareness about stroke prevention and management among the general population and medical practitioners. Experts from across India will gather to discuss cutting-edge research and best practices in stroke care. Prof. Bashir Ahmed Sanaie, organising chairman and Head of Neurology, GMC Srinagar, expressed optimism about the event's success.
The CME will feature scientific sessions, a poster presentation competition for students, and a pre-event run promoting healthier lifestyles and vascular health. World Stroke Day highlights stroke as a leading global cause of death and disability. This initiative seeks to empower the society and medical systems to take preventive measures.
The 2024 World Stroke Day theme is Greater than Stroke events to underline how sports can help people strengthen their bodies and systems.
