GM Shaheen urges Govt to reinforce employment mechanisms
Srinagar, Nov 9: Jammu and Kashmir JDU President GM Shaheen has expressed concern over the surging unemployment rate across the Union Territory, terming it a grave social malaise that threatens the socio-economic equilibrium of the region.
In a strongly worded statement, Shaheen asserted that despite repeated assurances and policy declarations, the "ground realities remain bleak", with an alarming number of educated youth without gainful employment.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Government of India to take urgent, result-oriented steps to rejuvenate the employment ecosystem through skill-oriented programs, industrial empowerment, and sustainable job creation.
"The absence of viable employment opportunities is eroding the confidence of our young generation."
