GM Shaheen greets people on Shab-e-Barat

Srinagar, Feb 3: Janata Dal (United) Party President, GM Shaheen, on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat, called upon the people to transform this sacred night into a moment of moral awakening against injustice, corruption and exploitation.

Shaheen said that Shab-e-Barat is not only a night of prayers but also a night of accountability — accountability of rulers before God and accountability of governments before the people. He said that when injustice becomes policy and silence becomes habit, faith demands resistance, as per a press release.

He stated that rising unemployment, crushing inflation and administrative apathy have pushed common citizens into distress, and such failures cannot be washed away by ritualistic observance alone.
