Global Delegation of 75 Delegates to Witnesses India's Lok Sabha Elections
New Delhi, May 04, 2024: Global Delegation Arrives to Witness India's Electoral Process. The Election Commission of India extends an invitation to 75 delegates from 23 countries, representing a diverse array of Election Management Bodies (EMBs), to witness the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024. This Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP) highlights India's dedication to electoral integrity and transparency on the global stage.
The visiting delegates are representatives from Bhutan, Mongolia, Australia, and beyond. The participants, including members from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and media teams from Bhutan and Israel, converge to delve into the intricacies of India's electoral system and glean insights from the world's largest democracy.
Commencing on May 4th till 9th May, the programme features addresses by officials such as Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Subsequently, delegates will embark on immersive visits to polling stations across Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and other states, witnessing firsthand the democratic process and election preparedness.
