Srinagar, Nov 9: The GK School for Communications has launched a three-month Journalism Skills Training Programme, a practical, hybrid programme designed to prepare aspiring journalists, students, and professionals for real-world media and communication roles.

The course combines four core areas - Writing, Communication, Graphic Design, and Videography - to give participants a complete understanding of how modern storytelling works across platforms.

HANDS-ON LEARNING ACROSS FOUR MODULES

The Writing Bootcamp focuses on clarity, structure, and impact in writing.

Students will learn to craft essays, opinion pieces, news stories, and blogs with attention to tone, brevity, and editing.

The Communication Skills Training module builds public speaking, presentation, and teamwork abilities through mock interviews, role plays, and recorded practice sessions designed to boost confidence.

The Graphic Designing segment introduces participants to visual communication, covering design principles, colour theory, typography, and tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Learners will create posters, social media banners, and campaign graphics during guided workshops.

The Videography or Camera Crash Course familiarises students with the basics of camera operation, lighting, framing, and sound. The participants will also capture short interviews and story visuals using DSLR or smartphone cameras.

HYBRID MODEL AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Spanning three months, the course follows a hybrid learning model (offline and online), featuring practical assignments, workshops, and mentorship from media professionals.
