Srinagar, July 20: The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has taken a significant step towards boosting exports from Kashmir's gem and jewellery sector.

A statement issued here said that a high-level GJEPC delegation, led by Chairman Vipul Shah, engaged in productive discussions with key members of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and All Kashmir Gold Dealer Association.

The meeting, the first of its kind with Kashmir's gem and jewellery trade, focused on enhancing the global prominence of Kashmiri sapphires and empowering local artisans. Vipul Shah emphasized the Council's commitment to strengthening the sector, facilitating growth, and increasing international recognition.

Shah highlighted the potential of Kashmiri jewellery in Iranian and Central Asian markets, noting the unique blend of traditional artistry and modern design that has captivated buyers from these regions.

Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman of GJEPC, outlined the Council's support through IJEX in Dubai, a year-round B2B platform that enables GJEPC members to showcase products and secure international orders.
