Girls’ Cycling Literacy drive concludes in Srinagar
Srinagar, May 10: A five-day cycling literacy course aimed at empowering girls and promoting cycling concluded successfully in Srinagar today.
The initiative, organised by BYCSA and She Cycling in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir, saw 18 girls learn to cycle along the picturesque Jhelum River Front.
The participants received certificates of completion from Narjees Nawab, Additional Secretary Law, and Mantasha Binti Rashid, Deputy Director of Tourism, Kashmir, marking their induction into the national cycling campaign.
Prakash Gopinath and Zeenath, the course coordinators from Kerala, were felicitated by the Department of Tourism for their efforts in teaching Kashmiri girls and women the skill of cycling.
The five-day cycling literacy programme was part of a broader initiative to promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and encourage active lifestyles, particularly among women and girls in the region.
