Girl jumps into river Jhelum in Srinagar, rescue on

Srinagar, July 31: A girl jumped into river Jhelum in Habba Kadal area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday.

An official told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that an 18-year-old girl jumped into the river Jhelum at Habba Kadal.

He said that soon after the incident locals along with police and SDRF started a rescue operation. He said that efforts are on to save the girl.

The reason behind taking this extreme step wasn’t immediately known, he said.

Police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
