Girl injured in Rajouri road accident
Rajouri, Mar 18: A girl sustained injuries whereas four other members of her family had a narrow escape when a car they were travelling in fell into a ditch on national highway in Rajouri town.
The locals have accused grave negligence on the part of Highway upgradation project execution agency stating that proper preventive measures towards safety of passengers are not being followed.
A car JK02CQ 7972 on way towards Workshop bridge from Khandli bridge in Rajouri town fell in a ditch that was dug on National Highway stretch.
A minor girl travelling in this car sustained injuries where as her parents and other family members had a narrow escape of life. The injured were taken to Government Medical College Rajouri where they were declared out of danger by doctors.
The accident however sparked anger among the local people who said that the Private agency executing the highway upgradation project is resorting to grave negligence putting life of people in risk. They said that such deep ditches are being made in the middle of highway without putting in place traffic diversion signs in order to prevent accidents.
The protesters have called for action against such negligence.
