GGF holds relief camps for shelling-affected border residents

Jammu, Jun 5: In continuation of its humanitarian mission post “Operation Sindoor”, the Gandhi Global Family (GGF) J&K, under the leadership of Dr S P Varma, president of GGF J&K, Thursday organized the 4th and 5th batches of relief camps to support families affected by cross-border shelling. The 4th relief camp was held at the Tehsildar Office premises, tehsil headquarter Suchetgarh in village Chakroi along Jammu International Border, a GGF spokesperson said.

Grocery kits were distributed to families impacted by Pakistani shelling. The camp was held in the presence of Rahul Sharma, Tehsildar; Naib Tehsildar, other revenue officials and local residents of Suchetgarh. However, the 5th relief camp took place at the SDM office in R S Pura, where relief material was handed over to needy families identified by the local administration. Both camps were organised by the GGF Jammu team, comprising senior officials viz., Dr Dinesh Gupta; Kirtan Singh; Maheep Bhardwaj; Imtiaz and Garmeet Singh with the active support of the local volunteers and community members. The details of the affected families were provided by the local administration of the region, the spokesperson said.

“Since the initiation of “Operation Sindoor”, Gandhi Global Family J&K has been consistently conducting relief camps across Jammu and Kashmir, with a special focus on the cross-border shelling-affected families residing along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB),” spokesperson said. Key areas of focus include Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu in the Jammu division and Baramulla and Kupwara in the Kashmir division. “These ongoing efforts reflect GGF J&K’s unwavering commitment to standing in solidarity with the border population and providing timely humanitarian aid,” the spokesperson added.
