Baramulla, Sep 28: Ahead of the Assembly Elections in Baramulla on October 1, General Observer for the 10-Baramulla and 11-Gulmarg Assembly Constituencies, Aparna U, conducted a thorough inspection of several designated polling stations in the 11-Gulmarg AC today.

The inspection primarily focused on ensuring that every polling station is equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF), which are essential for providing a smooth and accessible voting experience.

The facilities inspected included clear signage, access to clean drinking water, functional toilets, ramps for individuals with disabilities, proper lighting, and comfortable seating. The aim is to guarantee a respectful and hassle-free experience for all voters on election day.

The Observer also inspected the model polling stations established in the AC, including a pink polling station that will be managed entirely by women polling staff and red polling stations manned by persons with disabilities (PwDs).

Aparna U expressed her satisfaction with the arrangements made by the district administration and stated that the Election Commission of India (ECI) remains committed to ensuring that all polling stations are fully prepared to provide a seamless voting process.
