GDC Ganderbal organises health awareness programme

Ganderbal, Oct 23: The Health Centre of Government Degree College Ganderbal organised a health awareness programme on “Obesity & Endocrine Disorders” on Wednesday in collaboration with Paras Hospital, Srinagar, in the college auditorium.

The programme was aimed to raise awareness about obesity and endocrine disorders, educating attendees on the signs and symptoms of various related conditions.

Additionally, the programme sought to sensitise attendees regarding strategies for coping with obesity and endocrine disorders, as well as promoting mental wellness. The event featured a series of presentations and discussions led by Dr Mehroosa from Paras Hospital, Srinagar, with students and faculty members of the college.

The Principal of GDC Ganderbal, Prof Fouzia Fatima, stated that the college is committed to hosting several such programmes in the future to educate students and staff about obesity, endocrine disorders, and other health issues.

Prof Fatima thanked all participants for their overwhelming involvement and emphasised the importance of organising such health awareness programmes, providing opportunities for every student and staff member to engage.

Dr Shaheena Akhter, Convenor, and other members of the organising committee were present to supervise all activities during the health awareness programme.

The event aimed to educate students about the dangers of obesity and endocrine disorders, prevention strategies, and appropriate responses in case of any related situations.

In her introductory speech, Dr Shaheena Akhter emphasised the importance of good health, recognising the symptoms of obesity and endocrine disorders, and offered guidance on appropriate initial responses, providing a deeper understanding of the challenges posed by these conditions.

At the conclusion of the event, mementos were distributed to the notable participants.
