Baramulla, Dec 3: The Government Degree College for Boys, Baramulla, marked International Disability Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPwDs) with the theme “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”
Organised by the Department of Psychology headed by Dr Kaiser Ahmad Dar (Head, Department of Psychology), the programme sought to empower individuals with disabilities as active contributors to society. Key discussions, led by Dr Zafar Iqbal, underscored the urgent need to address the shortage of professionals trained to cater to the needs of persons with disabilities. Speakers also advocated for implementing provisions of the Disability Act and urged educational institutions to create inclusive proposals for better accommodation of individuals with disabilities.
