GDA restricts transport of construction material beyond Tangmarg

Baramulla, Dec 25: Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has barred the vehicles from carrying any construction material beyond Tangmarg from 5pm onwards.

As per the advisory issued by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) GDA Tariq Hussain, all the vehicles "with valid permission" to carry construction material beyond Tangmarg shall be allowed with due permission only between 9am to 5pm.

"Sunday shall be a dry day and no vehicle with any material shall be allowed beyond Tangmarg on Sunday," the GDA Advisory reads.

The GDA in its advisory has asked all the executing agencies carrying construction of public importance to ensure utilization of material for the purpose allowed.

"In case of any misuse of material, the action as warranted shall be taken against the erring department, officers or official," it reads.

The GDA has also barred the stakeholders to carry goods and essential commodities in the restricted times and days.

"Besides, no one is allowed to carry any sort of construction material without any permission,"the GDA in its advisory said.

As per the GDA Advisory, no one will be allowed to carry any material in a personal or passenger vehicle in the jurisdiction of Gulmarg.

"Anyone found violating norms shall be booked under the provisions of law," it reads.

The GDA further states that any JCB or any excavator required to any department shall approach the office of CEO GDA and accordingly as per requirement the machinery will be allowed or issued as per norms.

"This advisory is issued under my seal and signature shall be in force till March 31 of 2025," the CEO GDA said in his advisory.

A copy of the advisory has also been sent to the executive engineer of PDD, PHE and R&B Department for information and compliance.
