GCOE hosts annual road race 2025

Srinagar, Jun 4: The Government College of Education (GCOE), Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), M A Road, Srinagar, organised its annual college road race 2025, witnessing enthusiastic participation from over 60 students across different academic streams.

The event was flagged off at 6 am by Convenor, College Sports Committee, Mohammad Yasin Pir, along with faculty members and organisers. The 4.6-km race, held for both men and women, aimed to promote physical fitness and sportsmanship among students. In the menís category, Hashim Nabi (UG 6th semester) secured the first position, followed by Hyder Ali Mir (UG 2nd semester) and Muhammad Junaid Dar (UG 2nd semester).

In the womenís race, Asma (BEd 3rd semester) emerged as the winner, with Sehla Jan and Aabirah Amin, both from UG 4th semester, finishing second and third. The award ceremony was held at Nishat, where Principal Prof Seema Naz, also the Nodal Principal for Kashmir Division Colleges, felicitated the winners with medals and trophies.

In her address, she emphasised the importance of sports in student life and commended the efforts of the Sports Committee and Physical Education Department for organising the event smoothly.
