Gang of truckers looting cash, valuables from highway travelers busted: Srinagar Police
Srinagar, May 02: Police on Thursday said they arrested three people for allegedly being part of a gang involved in robbing commuters along the National Highway in Srinagar.
The accused as per the police robbed vehicles plying along the National Highway, looting the victims' cash, mobile phones, and other belongings.
"Srinagar Police busts notorious gang of truck robbers with modus operandi of targeting vehicles plying along NHW robbing drivers of cash, mobile phones & other belongings. FIR No. 28/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Shalteng," said police in an official communique.
The accused were identified as Mohd Amir Keenu S/o Mushtaq Ahmed R/O Palpora, Adnan Shah S/o Mohd Aslam & Imran Shah S/o Gh. Mohd R/O Kanipora Nowgam.

The three are imprisoned, said police, adding that mobile phones and gas cylinders have been recovered from them.

Search for the rest of the members of the gang is underway, said police.
