Srinagar, Nov 5: A lecture on ‘Reincarnation - The Journey of the Soul’ was organised by Gandhi Memorial College and a unit of HESK Jammu at the Mata Saraswati Auditorium on Wednesday.

A statement of the Gandhi Memorial College issued here said that the aim of the session was to explore the philosophical, spiritual, and scientific perspectives on reincarnation, the belief that the soul undergoes multiple births in its quest for evolution and self-realisation.

President HESK, Prof B L Zutshi, delivered the keynote and welcome address and offered deep insights into ancient scriptures and modern interpretations of the cycle of birth and rebirth. The key speaker, Ashok Raina, through a presentation, emphasised that understanding reincarnation encourages moral living, compassion, and a broader outlook on human existence.

The event was chaired by writer and Sanskrit scholar, Prof P N Trisal, and co-chaired by former Director SCERT J&K and former Chairperson JKBOSE, Prof Veena Pandita.

Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation, Jammu, Arvind Karwani, attended the event as the special guest. Others present included Santosh Raina, Prof BL Koul, U K Jalali, Moti Koul, R L Dhar, along with executive body members and other guests.

A question and answer session followed by a cultural programme by students Shreya, Simran, Richa, Nandani, Deep Sehgal, Abhishek, Muskan, Rudrika, and Kashish added charm to the event.

Prof Veena Pandita appreciated the enlightening presentation, describing the topic as deeply engaging and intellectually stimulating. Arvind Karwani shared his reflections on the profound theme, while Prof PN Trisal, in his concluding remarks, offered scholarly perspectives enriching the overall discourse.

In his vote of thanks, General Secretary HESK, Prof Virender Rawal, thanked the guests and highlighted the importance of such discussions in fostering spiritual awareness and inner growth. The event was managed by the staff and faculty of Gandhi Memorial College, led by Pradeep Pandita.
