Ganderbal Scuffle: Man accused of killing elderly person arrested, police says

Srinagar, Feb 11:Police on Sunday said that it has arrested a man accused of killing an elderly person during a scuffle between two families in Bonizila Haripora area of Ganderbal district.

Ghulam Mohd Sheikh (65) was killed while another person was injured after a fight broke out between two families earlier today.

Quoting a police official, news agency KNO reported that at 05:30 PM today, Police Station Ganderbal received an information through reliable sources that the scuffle has occurred between two families over land dispute at Bonzilla Wussan Ganderbal.

During the scuffle one person namely Gh Mohammad Sheikh, son of Ambir Sheikh of Bonzilla was seriously injured and was taken to PHC Wussan, where doctors declared him 'brought dead.'

In this regard, a case under FIR number 23/2024 under section 302 IPC stands registered at PS Ganderbal and the further investigation is going on , the official said.
