Ganderbal school celebrates annual day
Ganderbal, Oct 29: Qamaria Model Education Institute (QMEI) Ganderbal, one of the oldest and most reputed schools, celebrated its 21st Annual Day on Tuesday by organizing a grand function.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir, Prof Nilofer Khan, was the chief guest on the occasion. Former Chief Secretary and Chairman of QMHSEI, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, presided over the function. Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Wasim Qadri, and the Principal of Government Degree College Ganderbal also attended the event.
VC KU emphasised that students play a pivotal role in development and nation-building activities. She praised the students for their outstanding performances during the annual day celebrations and commended the staff and school management for their dedication and efforts in shaping the future of the children.
Former Chief Secretary Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, in his speech, highlighted the role of youth in preserving the cultural ethos of Kashmir. He stressed the importance of providing students with moral education alongside contemporary education. He complimented the management, staff, and faculty of Qamaria Model Educational Institute Ganderbal for their efforts in elevating the institute to new heights.
Noted academician and member of the managing committee of QMEI, Sheikh Gayas ud Din, emphasised that the annual day celebrations showcase the hidden talents of students and pave the way for potential careers in sports, art, and music. He encouraged students to explore their hidden talents and adapt to the competitive world. He also advised the student and teacher community to cultivate reading habits, as "reading expands mental acumen and broadens horizons." During the function, the students presented mesmerising and colorful programmes that received high praise from the audience. The Principal of the school delivered the vote of thanks.
