G M Thakur passes away
Srinagar, Jan 11: Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer G M Thakur passed away on Sunday.
Thakur, who served as Commissioner and Member, J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) was a distinguished administrator, known for his integrity, humility and lifelong service to the people. He was laid to rest at his ancestral Graveyard at Lasjan area in Srinagar. People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Chief Minister of J&K, Mehbooba Mufti expressed her heartfelt condolences on the demise of G.M. Thakur. In a post on X, J&K PDP said Thakur was the brother-in-law of former minister and senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura. "May Allah grant him Jannat and give strength to the bereaved family," the post reads.
Meanwhile, PDP leader Zuhaib Yousuf Mir also condoled the demise describing the deceased as a beacon of integrity and service.
