From Slovenia to Seoul, India’s global outreach echoes Pahalgam’s pain
New Delhi, May 26: In a coordinated diplomatic offensive following the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian parliamentary delegations, comprising members from across the political spectrum, are in the fifth day running of an extensive global campaign to highlight the threat of cross-border terrorism and reaffirm Indiaís resolute stance of zero tolerance.
From the streets of Georgetown to the chambers of Slovenia and Seoul, the message is consistent and unwavering: India will not relent in its fight against terrorism.
The delegations, dispatched to various strategic capitals, have engaged with senior government officials, parliamentarians, policy experts, and local Indian communities to convey a unified national response to the recent attack and honour the bravery and sacrifice of its victims.
In Slovenia, an all-party team led by MP Kanimozhi met the Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee, Predrag Baković, and Miroslav Gregorič of the India-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The delegation underscored Indiaís all-party consensus on counterterrorism and conveyed that terrorism remains a global threat requiring collective resistance.
Slovenian officials strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack, calling terrorism ìpure evil that cannot be justified in any form.î
Meanwhile, in South Korea, a group led by MP Sanjay Kumar met with First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong Kyun.
The delegation detailed Indiaís calibrated yet firm response to the Pahalgam incident under Operation Sindoorí.
Kyun expressed condolences, acknowledged Indiaís strategic restraint, and emphasised that the Special Strategic Partnership between India and Korea presents opportunities for joint action against terrorism.
In Kuwait, MP Jay Panda led the Indian delegation that called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida A S Al-Maousharji.
The Indian side briefed him on recent counter-terror actions and stressed Indiaís national doctrine of proactive deterrence.
Both countries reaffirmed a shared zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
In Guyana, MP Shashi Tharoor spearheaded meetings with Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and Prime Minister Mark Phillips.
The discussions covered Indias firm position on the Pahalgam attack, the strategic underpinnings of Operation Sindoor, and regional security concerns, including the Indus Water Treaty.
Guyanese leaders reiterated their steadfast support for Indias counter-terror efforts.
The delegation also paid floral tributes at the Shilaphalakam Memorial at the Indian Embassy, saluting the memory of those who laid down their lives in service of the nation ñ a solemn reminder of the sacrifices that underpin Indias global appeal for solidarity.
Next on the itinerary is Panama, where an all-party delegation led by MP Shashi Tharoor is scheduled to hold dialogues with Panamanian leadership, media representatives, the strategic community, and members of the Indian diaspora.
