From Kashmir to skyline of Dubai, Syed Aamir’s Walnut Infra Tech scripts success story
Srinagar, Oct 21: Born in the scenic locales of Kashmir, where his growing-up days experienced erratic power cuts, Syed Aamir Ashraf Kirmani remembers nights that taught him a simple lesson, where there is darkness, there is opportunity. Today, the 33-year-old engineer-turned-entrepreneur runs Walnut Infrastructure Technology in Dubai, a company that consults, designs and installs smart home systems in villas and residential buildings in the UAE.
His work, he says, is “about giving people control over their comfort, safety and energy , the opposite of the uncertainty I grew up with.” Aamir’s story reads like the arc of a modern success story, modest beginnings, technical training, grit, and a single clear mission. Born and raised in Baramulla, he completed his B.Tech in Automobile Engineering at SRM University before moving to Dubai in 2015. What began as a technical job in a systems company soon became a larger calling, bridging engineering know-how with the commercial skills to scale a business that brings smart solutions to everyday life.
“I grew up living through blackouts,” Aamir explains. “So, when I think of smart homes, I don’t only see convenience, I see reliability. I see how technology can take away that feeling of helplessness.” That empathy, combined with his technical background and sales experience, became Walnut’s north star, practical, user-friendly automation that works in real homes, not just in glossy showrooms.
From Early Projects to Scaling Ambition
Walnut started by targeting villa projects and homeowners who wanted meaningful upgrades, reliable home automation and energy management. Early wins came from hands-on project execution and an insistence on honest, value-driven sales, Aamir personally oversaw installations, trained teams, and built processes that let the firm upsell intelligently while maintaining customer trust.
The numbers tell the same story: consistent monthly contracts, villa projects above AED 300,000, and a growing lead pipeline generated through focused digital campaigns and partnerships with Developers, Architects, interior designers and system integrators. But beyond revenue, Walnut’s real achievement is a reputation for delivering solutions that remove anxiety, lights that adapt to your schedule, systems that save energy and reduce bills.
Leadership Forged in Two Worlds
Aamir’s leadership blends the humility of his roots with the ambition of Dubai’s fast-moving market. He credits his team and the company’s early clients for helping Walnut move from a small service provider to a brand that customers trust for complete home automation. “People remember how it made their life easier, not how complicated it was to build.” he says
What makes Aamir’s story stick is the personal arc, a boy who lived through unreliable electricity becoming a man who installs systems that make power, light, and security reliable for others. It’s a human narrative that goes beyond products, technology as dignity, technology as peace of mind.
“Every time I switch on a smart-light in a family home and see a smile, I remember why I started,” Aamir says. “It’s not just business; it’s fixing a childhood problem for other people.”
Way Forward
Walnut’s plan is pragmatic and bold: steady scaling, more technical hires, deeper partnerships with developers and designers. Aamir is open to partnerships and investment that align with the company’s values, practical technology, reliable installation, and fair pricing. Company registered in London and Riyad: We have a plan to expand in the first quarter of 2026. From the valley, where power backups were common companions to the high-rise skylines of Dubai where homes are now automated and bright, Syed Aamir Ashraf Kirmani’s journey is a reminder that real innovation often starts with a simple question: how do I solve the problem that affected me the most?
