From fragile 5 to top 5, PM Modi hails India’s economic transformation
New Delhi, Oct 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2025, said India has shattered every doubt of the past decade to emerge as one of the world’s top five economies.
Recalling the pre-2014 “Fragile Five” label, he said, “India will neither stop nor pause—140 crore Indians are moving forward together.”
Highlighting robust growth, low inflation, and record global investments, PM Modi said India’s resilience has turned risks into reforms. “From chips to ships, the confidence of an Atmanirbhar Bharat is visible everywhere,” he added, asserting that India’s unstoppable momentum is now shaping global opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi also declared that “India will neither stop nor pause” as the nation of 140 crore people continues to move forward with confidence and unity. Addressing the NDTV World Summit 2025 in New Delhi, themed “Unstoppable India,” the Prime Minister said India has transformed from being part of the “Fragile Five” to one of the world’s top five economies.
Extending Diwali greetings, PM Modi said the theme of the summit was apt for the current moment. “In a world facing many speed breakers, the idea of an ‘Unstoppable India’ is both natural and timely,” he remarked. Reflecting on the pre-2014 era, the Prime Minister said discussions were once dominated by concerns over policy paralysis, corruption scandals, inflation, and terrorism. “Eleven years ago, people doubted India’s future. Today, India is setting new global benchmarks,” he said. PM Modi highlighted India’s achievements across sectors—from economic growth and technological innovation to national security.
