Fresh snowfall occurs in upper reaches of Doda , Kishtwar, Reasi, Ramban districts

Ramban, Jan 16: A fresh snowfall occurred in the higher reaches and light rain in plain areas of Doda , Kishtwar, Reasi and Ramban districts of Jammu province on Thursday.

The temperature dropped considerably in the evening as higher reaches of these district experienced light snowfall. Two to three inch fresh snow was recorded at Dagantop, Gool, Patnitop, Sanasar, Nathatop, Patnitop, Pogal Paristan, Mahu, Mangit, Jawahar Tunnel area of Banihal, Sinthan Top, Warwan, Kishtwar, and Bhaderwah.

Kishtwar and Bhaderwah towns witnessed fresh spell of snowfall. Tourist destinations Patnitop, Sanasar and peaks of trikuta hills also witnessed snowfall.

The surrounding peaks of Nathatop, Gool, Jawahar tunnel Banihal have been covered in a fresh blanket of snow.

An official of the tourism department said that snow covered Patnitop, and Sanasar has brought joy to visitors and pilgrims of Shri Mata Vashino Devi.

Electric and water supply remained erratic in the majority of villages of Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Doda and Ramban districts due to inclement weather.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department has forecast the possibility of snow and rain showers at isolated places in the mountains of Chenab region of Jammu province.
