Rajouri, April 10: Fresh landslides have delayed the opening of the Mughal Road with traffic movement expected to resume within a day or two.

Landslides have occurred at multiple locations along the road in Poonch district. Earlier, the movement of vehicles was expected to be restored today, which was also set as a target date by the district administration of Poonch.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which took over this road a few months ago, was carrying out snow clearance work from the last several days, which was completed up to Pir Ki Gali from the Poonch side two days ago.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surankote, Farooq Khan, told Greater Kashmir that “things were going on as per schedule and there were all chances that road will be restored on 10th of April, but some landslides have resulted in delay in traffic restoration.”
