A key highlight of the camp was the participation of students from Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar, who volunteered to assist during the camp. Their involvement was part of an initiative to promote intergenerational bonding and cultivate a sense of responsibility and respect for the elderly. The students had the opportunity to interact with seniors, gaining insights into the unique social and health challenges faced by this population.

Dr. Zubair Saleem, senior geriatric consultant, emphasised the growing issue of abandonment and neglect faced by many elderly citizens. He said, “A significant number of the seniors who attended the camp were either abandoned or neglected by their adult children. In some cases, bedridden patients who could not make it to the camp were visited at their homes for medical care.”

The camp went beyond just treating immediate health concerns; some patients were also awarded the Lifetime Privilege Card, entitling them to lifelong free medicines as part of Moul Mouj Foundation's ongoing support for marginalised seniors.

This camp was held in memory of late Muhammad Shafi Pandit, a founding member of Help Foundation and Moul Mouj Foundation. Dr. Zubair Saleem noted that this initiative continues Pandit’s vision for supporting seniors, stating, “This camp is a continuation of Pandit’s idea and serves as a Sadqaye Jariyah—a charitable legacy he has left for the community.”

Scores of seniors were treated during the camp, with several being diagnosed with uncontrolled hypertension, a serious condition that requires ongoing medical care and lifestyle adjustments. The medical team provided patients with awareness and advice on how to manage their health better, particularly focusing on managing hypertension.
