Former MLA Aijaz Mir rejoins PDP

Srinagar, May 27: Former MLA, Aijaz Mir, today rejoined PDP.

According to a press release, he was welcomed back into PDP by party President Mehbooba Mufti .

She posted on X, “After many ups and downs, it was heartening to welcome Aijaz Mir back home. Our shared journey has seen its share of challenges, but I am hopeful we will walk forward with renewed purpose.”

The reunion underscores the PDP’s dedication to the ideals of its founder, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, focusing on unity, progress, and democratic values in Jammu and Kashmir, a press release said.

Aijaz Mir, a prominent leader known for his strong grassroots connect and advocacy for youth issues, expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception. “I am honoured to return to the PDP family and reaffirm my commitment to serving the people of J&K while strengthening our shared democratic values,” he said.

“This development is poised to bolster the PDP’s outreach efforts, particularly in South Kashmir, as the party seeks to reconnect with its core support base and advance its mission of inclusive growth and empowerment,” the press release added.
