Former Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali joins BJP, says "decision taken for betterment of J&K"

Srinagar, Aug 18: Former minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Sunday joined Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu. Several senior functionaries of the party including Dr Jitendra Singh, G Kishen Reddy, Tarun Chugh, Ravinder Raina and others were present at the occasion.

Talking to reporters he said the decision of joining BJP has been taken for the larger interest of Jammu and Kashmir. He said we being a politician have to work for the good of the region.

"This decision (joining BJP) has been taken for the betterment of J&K, and we have to work for the welfare of this region," he said.

On being asked why he joined BJP, he said the policies of BJP have motivated him to join the ranks and work for the larger interest of J&K. He asserted the BJP is going to form the government in the UT comfortably.

"I think BJP is the only alternative for people which can deliver justice at grassroots level," he added.
