Srinagar, Aug 27: Dr. Talat Majeed, a former member of banned Jama’ta-e-Islami J&K, has filed his nomination as an independent candidate for the Pulwama Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Talat was the first former member of Jama’at who joined mainstream political party led by Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in 2023 and hoped that resolution of issues can be ensured through taking part in mainstream politics.

“We have to look at the situation from a geopolitical scenario perspective,” Dr. Majeed said while addressing a gathering of supporters after filing his nomination papers according to Kashmir Dot Com.

“I understood the developments happening in the geopolitical scenarios, then I thought we should get into the mainstream,” Talat said.
