Srinagar, Apr 11: The Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department held a one-day workshop titled “Strategies and Approaches for Qualifying Indian Forest Examination” as part of its Training and Capacity Building initiative.

Organised by the Kashmir North Circle in collaboration with the Planning & Publicity Division, Srinagar, the workshop took place at the Conference Hall of the North Forest Headquarters in Mazbugh Sopore.

Civil services aspirants from Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal, and Budgam districts participated enthusiastically in the program. Danish Khan, Divisional Forest Officer, Planning & Publicity Division, welcomed attendees and explained that the workshop was part of the Forest Department’s Youth Connect initiative aimed at guiding candidates preparing for the Indian Forest Service Examination.

Ashish Bisnoi delivered the lead session with a comprehensive presentation on eligibility criteria, preparation strategies, and approaches to succeed in the Indian Forest Examination. He shared insights from his own experience regarding time management, optional subject selection, and maintaining consistency in preparation. An interactive discussion followed, where participants’ questions were addressed and clarified.

Irfan Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle, delivered the concluding address, highlighting the potential of local youth and the importance of increasing awareness about the Indian Forest Service. He encouraged aspirants to pursue careers in the green sector with passion and commitment. Shah noted that this first-of-its-kind initiative in the region would be followed by more programs organized in collaboration with NGOs, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in Kupwara and Baramulla Districts.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Danish Khan. Local residents and civil society members appreciated the initiative, expressing hope that such programs would inspire youth toward prestigious civil services while steering them away from social issues.
