Food safety Deptt conducts awareness program at Baltal

Ganderbal, Jul 9: Food Safety Department conducted an awareness programme at Base Camp Baltal here on Wednesday.

The awareness program was conducted on the directions of Commissioner Food & Drug Administration, Smita Sethi, officials said.

They said the awareness program was organised with regard to hygiene/sanitation and proper storage conditions in langars. (Community kitchens) so that safe, healthy and wholesome food is served to yatris. Besides, on the spot testing of food articles, which are being served to yatris was carried through Mobile Food Testing Laboratory stationed at Baltal. Officials said on spot registrations among food business operators under FSS Act-2006 was also done.
