Food Nest Thune lift Royal Cup Kangan in last-over thriller

Kangan, Nov 30: Food Nest Thune lifted the Royal Cricket Cup Kangan after edging Syed Gulistan Chattergul in a last-over thriller on Sunday at the Sheikh Ul Alam Sports Ground Kangan, chasing down a target of 212 runs behind a match-winning century from Affan Wani.

Captain of Food Nest Thune won the toss and decided to bowl first and restricted the Syed Gulistan Chahtergul to 211 runs.

Chasing a target of 212 runs, the Food Nest Thune, although losing quick wickets, was led to victory by a brilliant knock of 100 runs by Affan Wani. Wani was declared player of the match.  MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali was chief guest on the occasion. SDPO Kangan Rajeev Raina, SHO Kangan Lateef Ali and President of the Kangan Cricket Board Mohammad Ashraf attended the finale and distributed trophies and medals among the winner and runner-up teams and players, respectively.

A large gathering of spectators attended the event and enjoyed the sports game. The tournament was organised by the Kangan Cricket Board, in which over 45 teams from different parts of the valley participated.
