Following Gujarat model will be matter of pride for you: Pathania tells NC MLAs

Srinagar, Oct 30: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker R S Pathania on Thursday asked the National Conference MLAs that following Gujarat model will be a matter of pride for them.

He was speaking on a bill seeking amendment of JK cooperative societies Act 1989 put up by Minister Javed Ahmad Dar.

Pathania said the cooperative societies across Jammu and Kashmir were in ICU and they (J&K government) must follow a Gujarat model to revive the Cooperative societies.

To this NC Lawmakers, in a lighter vein, said they do not need to follow any model of Gujarat.
To this, BJP MLA R S Pathania said: "It will be a matter of pride for you to follow Gujarat model," he said while sharing a smiling gesture with NC lawmakers.

"Humse Itni Nafrat Nah Rakhe (Don't keep so much hatred against us)," he told NC MLAs.

Earlier minister Javed Ahmad Dar put up a Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir cooperative societies Act, 1989 (Act No. XVII of 1989) (1.A. Bill No.7 of 2025).
