Flight disruptions: Jammu Rly Division augments one coach in Jammu-New Delhi Express for 7 days
Jammu, Dec 5: In the wake of flight disruptions due to Indigo operational crisis, to facilitate stranded passengers and ensure smooth travel, Jammu Railway Division of the Northern Railway has decided to add an extra AC coach to the Jammu-Delhi Rajdhani Express for seven days beginning from today, December 5, 2025.
Besides, one exclusive pair of special trains (Vande Bharat Special Express) has also been planned between New Delhi and MCTM (Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan) Udhampur Railway Station for December 6, 2025.
“These decisions have been taken to accommodate passengers stranded due to recent flight cancellations and to help them reach their destinations,” Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Jammu Railway Division, Uchit Singhal said.
He informed that an additional AC coach would be attached to the Rajdhani Express (Train No 12426/12425) operating on the Jammu-Delhi rail section from December 5 to 11, 2025.
“This will enable passengers affected by disruptions in air services to reach their destinations by rail. This immediate decision has been taken by the railway administration keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. Due to flight cancellations, the railway administration has arranged for an additional 3rd AC coach with 72 seats to be attached to train number 12426/12425 to accommodate the affected passengers,” Singhal said.
“Every possible effort is being made by the railways to ensure facilities for passengers during this challenging situation. Passengers can dial 139 or contact the nearest railway station for information,” he said.
With regard to one pair of special trains (02439 and 02440) planned between New Delhi and MCTM Udhampur Railway Station from December 6, 2025, Singhal said that the rake would be Vande Bharat rake with 20 coach composition.
Train number 02439 will depart from New Delhi Railway Station at 6 am tomorrow and reach Udhampur at 2 pm while train number 02440 will leave Udhampur Railway Station at 3 pm tomorrow and reach New Delhi at 11 pm (tomorrow, December 6, 2025).
