Flash floods leave dozens of trucks stranded in Leh after cloudburst

Ganderbal, Aug 18: Dozens of trucks and heavy vehicles remained stranded for a fifth day at Khangral in the Leh district due to flash floods from a cloudburst on the Lamayuru stretch of the Srinagar-Leh highway, leaving drivers facing food shortages and other hardships.

They said they are facing several problems, including a shortage of food and other things.

They said that the road has been partially opened for light motor vehicles, but the trucks are not being allowed as of now. The truck drivers have urged the administration and the BRO to pace up the road restoration work so that they can reach their destination without further hardships.
