Flash floods, landslides block Kishtwar-Sinthantop-Anantnag highway

Ramban,Jul 30: The Kishtwar–Sinthan Top–Anantnag National Highway (NH-244) was blocked on Wednesday due to mudslides and flash floods at multiple locations following overnight rainfall.

Officials said the highway got blocked due to heavy rains in Sithanpas, causing flash-floods at Sithan Nullah, Aloo form and due to multiple landslides along National Highway- 244 stretch.

Authorities have advised people to avoid their journey on Kishtwar - Sinthantop - Anantnag road till weather improves and clearance of road takes place.

Earlier during the day, vehicular traffic movement was disrupted on Batote - Kishtwar National Highway 244 due to flash-floods at Ramgarh area near Batote. However mudslides slides and slush was cleared, after slight improvement in weather, by the concerned road maintenance agency. Following this, traffic was resumed on Batote - Doda - Kishtwar stretch of National Highway 244.
