Srinagar, Oct 29: Director SKIMS and Ex-Officio Secretary to Government, Prof Muhammad Ashraf Ganie on Tuesday held the first Public Darbar at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).

A statement of SKIMS issued here said that Prof Ganie along with Medical Superintendent SKIMS Prof Farooq A Jan, HOD Hospital Administration Prof Ghulam Hassan Yatoo, HOD Critical Care Prof Muhammed Akbar Shah, Heads of various departments and heads of various supportive services interacted with the civil society, patients, attendants and people for redressal of their grievances and issues they are facing in the hospital.

The general masses largely appreciated the initiative taken by Director SKIMS and desired that it should be a continuous process and thanked the administration for providing the platform where their concerns and queries are heard.

The general masses while lauding the significant improvement in patient care services in the recent past also highlighted the issues pertaining to patient care services, and facilities for the improvement including staff deficiency, no availability of some drugs, and some equipment.

Director SKIMS while addressing the general public termed the public darbar significant to understand the perception about SKIMS through general masses and patients who visit the SKIMS for various treatments.

He thanked the public and media fraternity for the positive feedback about the various services provided by SKIMS and while acknowledging some deficiencies in various areas he said that the administration is aware of the issues and has put up a comprehensive roadmap to the government and assured immediate redressal about the same.

Director SKIMS instructed the HODs to get the feedback form on the devised format filled out by the patients on discharge from the hospital.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS and PRO SKIMS will receive feedback and suggestions or any grievance from the general public through emails and WhatsApp the details about it will be properly notified, he said.
