First list of BJP candidates likely today

Jammu, Aug 23: First list of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for J&K assembly elections is likely to be released tomorrow.

As per party sources, the names of candidates have almost been finalised by the Core group and they will be released after clearance by the Central Election Committee (CEC) and the Parliamentary Board.

“Party may release a list of candidates for the first two phases in one go. Besides, the party’s manifesto is also ready and following its approval by the central leadership will be released in a day or two.

It is obvious that it will be a comprehensive document yet positive impacts post abrogation of Article 370, including reservation and rights to deprived sections, will form the corner-stone of our manifesto,” sources added.

Earlier during the day, the party core group remained engaged in hectic deliberations.
