First all-party delegation departs on anti-terror diplomatic mission following Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 21: New Delhi has kicked off a high-level global diplomatic outreach in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, with the first all-party delegation departing for Southeast Asia on Wednesday.

The seven-member delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, will visit Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore as part of India’s efforts to build international consensus against terrorism.

Confirming the development, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “Zero tolerance against terrorism! The first group of All Party Delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha has departed for a 5-nation visit as part of India’s diplomatic outreach on #OperationSindoor. The delegation will be visiting Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Japan & Singapore to affirm India’s resolve on combating terrorism in all its forms.”

The delegation is part of a broader initiative involving seven multi-party groups comprising 59 members, including representatives from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), opposition parties, and former diplomats. The teams are tasked with delivering India’s firm message on cross-border terrorism and Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of terror activities, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

The government’s decision to launch this diplomatic campaign follows Operation Sindoor, a cross-border counter-terrorism operation conducted earlier this month to neutralise terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied territory. The mission, seen as one of India’s most significant military responses since Balakot in 2019.

In the coming days, additional delegations are scheduled to travel to Europe, North America, West Asia, and Africa. Another team, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi, is expected to depart Thursday for Russia, Spain, Slovenia, Latvia, and Greece. All delegations are expected to hold talks with senior officials, lawmakers, policy think tanks.
