Fireman injured as fire damages two houses in Hawal

Srinagar, Nov 03: A fire broke out in Kathi Mohalla area of Hawal in Srinagar on Monday evening, damaging two residential houses and injuring a firefighter, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the fire erupted in a single residential building jointly owned by two brothers, causing extensive damage before it was brought under control by the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel.

He said during the operation, one fireman identified as Nasir Hossain sustained injuries while dousing the flames and was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.

He said the cause of the fire is being ascertained while cognizance of the investigations have been taken up.
