Three houses gutted in Nawabazar area of Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 23: At least three houses were gutted in a fire incident in Nawabazar area of Downtown.

As per the officials, the incident occurred in the early morning today in the Sonarkul locality of Nawabazar.

An official from Fire and Emergency department said that the fire started from one of the houses and soon spread to other structures in the congested area.

"We received the fire call at around 7:28 and soon rushed multiple fire tenders to douse off the flames. The fire was brought under control swiftly, however, the operation is still on," said an official.

The official said that the cause of fire is under investigation and further details will be known after the conclusion of the operation.
