Fire destroys J&K bank ATM in Badamwari, Rainawari; nearby car partially damaged

Srinagar, Nov 25: A fire incident was reported in Badamwari area of Rainawari in Srinagar on Tuesday morning after a J&K Bank ATM kiosk went up in flames.

Reports said that upon noticing the flames, locals immediately alerted the Fire and Emergency Services, following which firefighters reached the spot. In the rescue operation assisted by locals, the fire was put out and prevented from spreading further.

However, despite the efforts, the ATM kiosk was completely gutted. The intensity of the fire also caused partial damage to a nearby Santro car (JK01P-2888), which was parked close to the site.

Officials said that an inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the fire. "We are assessing the extent of the loss and examining whether an electrical fault or another technical issue may have triggered the incident," an official told GNS. (GNS)
